Maureen Leamy received a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Louisville, where she graduated magna cum laude in 1991.  She went on to study at the Louis D. Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville and received a Juris Doctor in 1995.  She is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association and is admitted to practice before the United States District Court, Eastern District of Kentucky.

She is a full time Assistant County Attorney in the Christian County Attorney’s office.  She is currently the Criminal Division Chief.  Her responsibilities include criminal prosecution from initial charging decisions through the presentation of cases in court before a judge or a jury.  She provides advice and guidance to the various law enforcement agencies in the county.  She oversees the work of the Domestic Violence Prosecutor, the Victim Advocate and Domestic Violence Investigator.

She is a member of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church.  She enjoys watching football and college basketball.
